12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Brodie is a coachable C/3B prospect who showcased his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. Behind the dish, Brodie presents a good target and tracks the ball into his glove well. He works to make a clean exchange and fires throws down to the 2B bag. Sitting in a more square stance can help Brodie improve his overall catching ability. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and drives through well with his lower half. He takes advantage of his size and drives the ball from gap to gap. Brodie can barrel up more baseballs by working through a shorter swing path. Overall, Brodie is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

10/17/2021 - All-In Membership - Grapevine (DFW), TX Brodie is a lean C/3B who will graduate in 2025. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in 2.22 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At 3B, feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Brodie has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
