12/01/2019 - College PREP - Lynwood (Chicago), IL Brody is a thin, 2-way player with good skills. At SS, Brody has quick/fluid feet, soft hands, and he fields low and athletically. He has good range, creates a good fielding angle, and he throws with momentum and accuracy from a loose arm across the diamond. A quicker exchange and continuing to add arm strength will only help abilities at SS get even better. In the OF, Brody has quick feet, he tracks well, and gets behind the ball. He takes solid angles to field and plays through with a quick release and accuracy to his cut off man. Offensively, Brody has an open/athletic stance, good balance, and he takes a square stride toward the pitcher. He has a direct barrel, works the middle of the field, and he makes square contact. Added physical strength and a sooner stride foot can help spike hitting numbers.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
