09/10/2023 - National Showcase - Chandler (Phoenix), AZ Brody is a 1B/LHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. Medium frame lean build with strength present and plenty of room to add more strength throughout. At 1B, he starts with active/efficient feet and takes aggressive angles to baseball. Creates good angles glove side, with good glove actions, and fields from an athletic fielding position. A quick arm action into a high 3/4 release point with consistent throws to second base. Showed good footwork around bag. On the mound he works with good tempo and throws with intent. Throws a FB that sits 77-80mph with tailing action, a 1/7 shaped breaking ball, and a slider with plus command. FB was best pitch during his bullpen. At the plate he hits from an athletic and even stance. Square glide step, with quick hands, and intent in swing. Direct barrel path with ability to stay long and through the baseball. Hit baseballs to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 85mph during BP. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
