01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Brody is a talented 3B prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Brody shows active footwork and flashes good lateral range. He is on time getting into position and fields the ball with soft, sure hands. He makes a two-handed exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, firing strong throws across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load on time and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed and plus barrel control, leading to loud contact and good power to his pull side. Overall, Brody is a talented prospect who is one to follow going into his senior season.

10/10/2018 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Brody is an athletic and talented 2019 2-way prospect. At the hot corner, Brody is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and shows range on both sides of the ball. He has fluid mechanics and can make the throw from deep up the line. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, Brody starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back, and hits off a firm from side. He keeps the barrel on plane and attacks the inside part of the ball. On the bump, Brody gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a loose arm action. His fastball tops out at 89 and his curveball has a 12-6 break. Developing the change up will allow him to work off the fastball more effectively. Brody is eager to learn and will develop his skills to compete at the next level.

08/03/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Anchorage, AK Brody continues to excel on the field and improve at his craft. He is a true threat at the plate with the ability to make consistent, hard contact and drive the ball for extra bases with ease. He is so smooth in the box to load and launch and has easy bat speed with lightening quick hands. His path is compact and he uses his lower half to generate big time pop to all fields. At the hot corner, he shows nimble footwork to get quick jumps on hard hit balls. He is agile moving side to side with extended range and has soft hands to field tough hops and make hard plays. In the outfield, he shows off a strong, accurate arm and plays through fly balls to gain momentum to his target. He gets good reads off the bat and gains ground on the ball to show extended range. Brody is a stud on the field and we expect him to be a contributor to any team at the next level.

07/25/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Brody showed well in all facets of his game during his last workout with The Factory. He is a talented 2 way player with a good stick. At 3B, Brody has good pre-pitch actions, soft hands, and he fields aggressively. He centers the ball well, has a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy and life across the diamond. On the mound, Brody pounds the zone, he attacks hitters, and works ahead. He has good off-speed pitches and holds runners on base well. At the plate, Brody has a strong base, plus bat speed, and a solid finish. He has a direct barrel, makes hard contact, and has power to the pull side.

06/15/2018 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Brody continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an outstanding runner at 6.93. On the bump, he had a tremendous showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 88 mph. Fastball shows plus cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with tight spin and late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as outstanding pitches that will get outs at the next level. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. At the event, he threw 6 innings, giving up 2 hits with 8 K's. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He shows good pre pitch actions and utilizes his speed to cover a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is outstanding as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Brody has a big upside on the bump and will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

06/05/2018 - 2018 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Brody continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Fastball showed range of 84-85 mph on a downhill plane. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and works to get ahead, utilizing both sides of the plate. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws on a line through his target. A RHH - he stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving the ball with gap-to-gap pop.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Brody continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and he has a tremendous future on the diamond. On the bump, he displays a sound / repeatable delivery, working in line and on time allowing his arm to work loose / free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 87 mph. Slider displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a plus feel for pitch with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is excellent as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both side of the plate. He shows good composure and competes on the mound. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, feet are aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Hands are soft / clean and he presents well out front. At the plate, hands are quick and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop.

07/10/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Anchorage, AK Brody continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. The baseball comes off his bat a little differently. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive in attacking balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / and presents well out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds of the double play. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and shows an outstanding backhand. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and on line carry across the diamond, displaying outstanding arm strength. On the mound, he continues to shine. Fastball showed a range of 82-85 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late / sharp break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for pitch with arm side run. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches, attacking hitters. With 2 years to further develop, Brody has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

06/10/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Brody continues to show a promising future on the diamond. On the bump, he had a solid showing at the event. He attacks hitters, throwing a lot of strikes as he works to get ahead of hitters through a quick tempo. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 86 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with tailing action. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches, locating to both sides of the plate. Defensively at 3B, he shows active prep with fluid actions. He works around the GB and through it as he gains ground toward his target. Footwork around the bag is solid and he is a quality receiver. Exchange is clean with strong throws. Backhand is smooth with a quick release. At the plate, he has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped through the zone (87 mph exit velocity) as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel as he crushes it to the gaps.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Brody is showing signs of progression from outing to outing with Baseball Factory, both as an athlete and a baseball player. On the hill, the 6'3/185 lbs hurler threw a FB with command from 80-84, topping out at 85. He showed an ability to command his off-speed pitches as well, mixing a 10/4 CB with sharp action from 62-64, and a CH with sink from 70-72. His ability to work downhill and his aggressive 'attack the mitt' approach make him a serious force. At the hot corner, he works well out in front and moves laterally with active footwork. His exchange to the bare hand is quick and clean and he throws with some life across the diamond. At the plate, he kept his head quiet through the swing, boosting barrel accuracy with his line-drive approach. In all - Brody is an intriguing follow that has a lot of upside as he is only entering his sophomore spring season.

07/11/2016 - College PREP - Anchorage, AK Brody is a solidly built two-way player with above average talent to make an impact in all facets of the game. As a RHP, Brody pitches on a downhill plane from a 3/4 slot with excellent control and free arm action. He begins balanced and maintains timing throughout his delivery. Brody has square direction with great hip rotation to finish properly towards his target. His full repertoire was above average and well located starting with a fastball that showed sink. His changeup was deceptive with run and his best pitch, the curveball, had sharp 11-5 break. At shortstop, Brody displays good body control, efficient footwork, and the ability to stay low throw his progression. He can improve his results on backhands and slow rollers with smoother mechanics. At the plate, Brody has a solid, square lower half with good balance. His active hands land above average bat speed lead to on-time results with the ball jumping off his barrel. Brody has the size, approach, and talent to be a difference-maker for a team at the next level.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Brody is a solid 2-way prospect who showed very well during his time in Florida. On the mound, this righty maintains fluid rhythm, drives off the rubber downhill - in-line toward the dish. FB jumps out of his hand and cracks the mitt at 78mph. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with good action - complimenting his FB well. He pounds the zone and works ahead in the count often. At Ss, Brody has active footwork with good lateral range. He secures the GB with soft/sure hands and has a clean exchange with strong throws across the diamond. Offensively, he shows a balanced setup with patience. Hands are quick as he whip the barrel through a level/compact path connecting and driving the ball. This 2019 grad has a high ceiling and will be one to keep an eye on in the years to come.

07/08/2015 - College PREP - Anchorage, AK Brody is a talented, young 2-way player (RHP/SS) who has a tall/projectable build (6'0"/165). On the mound, this RHP has an effective 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot. He works to a tall balance point and maintains level shoulders. Delivery is compact and repeatable and he stays directional toward the dish. FB ranges from 77-80 mph while showing some run. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape (63-65 mph). Changeup has run and shows to be best off-speed pitch. He fills up the zone and throws all 3 pitches for strikes. At SS, Brody puts his athleticism on display as he shows quick/active footwork and moves well around the GB. He funnels smoothly and has a quick release getting rid of it across the diamond (81 mph). With the bat, this RHH displays a balanced setup with rhythm in his hands. Swing is level as he connects and drives the middle of the field. More power potential is there with more lower 1/2 drive. Brody has a ton of upside with still a lot of time to develop.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
