03/05/2023 - National Showcase - Windsor (Madison), WI Brody is a 2024 C/3B out of Sturgeon Bay, WI. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he shows smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active but needs to attack the ball more and play through with his body. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.30 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are loose and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Brody is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Spring Training at Pirate City. In the field, Brody makes the routine plays and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Brody improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance with his hands held high. He is smooth getting into his load and gets good extension through the ball, leading to loud contact to the opposite field. Brody can improve as a hitter by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Brody shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 56mph. Breaking ball sits from 42-44mph with 11-5 break. Being more controlled gathering to his balance point can help Brody improve as a pitcher. Overall, Brody is a developing prospect who has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

06/16/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Glendale (Milwaukee), WI Brody is a tall, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Brody has a presentable glove, he fields in a square position, and he can throw from multiple arm slots to his target. He works the double play and has some accuracy to his target. On the mound, Brody has a repeatable delivery, he keeps his eyes on target, and he works at a good pace. Offensively, Brody has a tall stance, he swings on plane, and he hits line drives. He has strong hands and can work the ball gap to gap. Brody can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
