11/08/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Columbia, SC Brody is a solid, athletic C who as a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well. Pop times showed in 2.07 range with accuracy on his throws as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter but projects best as a LHH. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Brody has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
