10/26/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching/Catching & Offensive Skills Combined Weekend (Ages 14-18) Brooklyn is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, Brooklyn gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Brooklyn shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 68mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 60-63mph with sharp 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 59-61mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Finishing with his chest square to the plate can help Brooklyn improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets into his load well and hits against a strong front side. He takes a level swing and drives the ball to the opposite field. Brooklyn can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. Overall, Brooklyn is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

10/13/2019 - College PREP - Springfield, MA Brooklyn is a 3B/RHP that will graduate in 2021. At 3B, Brooklyn shows active footwork and presents a solid glove as he centers the ball. His exchanges are clean as he gets rid of the ball with a short arm action. He makes accurate throws around the diamond keeping the ball online. At the plate, Brooklyn sets up in a square stance as he starts his load keeping his balance centered. He works hard to get on plane and stays inside the ball well showing the ability to hit to all fields. On the mound, he shows a solid 3-pitch mix with a FB, SL, and CH. Brooklyn shows solid mechanics by gathering over the rubber well and separates on time keeping a square stride. He extends through well and he creates good rotation to finish the pitch. Brooklyn shows a solid foundations and we are excited to see his progress.

07/08/2019 - Baseball Factory Cleveland All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Brooklyn continues to show improvements and has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is soft/sure and presents well out front. Throws are accurate to his target. At the plate, power potential has improved through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick and works through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 66 mph. Fastball showed a range of 64-66 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual shape. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Brooklyn is a coachable 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Spring Training at Pirate City. In the field, Brooklyn makes the routine plays and works to make accurate throws to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Brooklyn improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a closed stance and works to make solid contact. Brooklyn can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Brooklyn controls his pitches well and gets his fastball up to 59mph. Brooklyn can improve as a pitcher by gathering to a balance point over the rubber. With two more years to develop, Brooklyn has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
