01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Brooks showed hitting improvements and raised his exit velocity to 62 MPH during his time in Pirate City. At 1B, Brooks makes plays through playable hands and feet. He picks out the right hops, shows a clean exchange, and throws with accuracy to his target. Offensively, Brooks stands in the box comfortably, he has an activated load, and swings in good rhythm. He hits from a firm front side, and rotates his core through the baseball. Brooks also showed good hustle and hard work during is time at Spring Training.

08/18/2019 - Interactive Video Program - St. Augustine, FL Brooks is a solid, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Defensively, Brooks has good footwork around the bag, he moves well, and makes the routine plays. He keeps the ball in front of his body and throws with an accurate arm to his target. On the mound, Brooks has good balance over the rubber and a clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time, lands in a square direction toward home, and he finishes in a complete position. At the plate, Brooks has a square stance, good balance, and he swings on plane. He makes solid contact and works the ball gap to gap. Brooks can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
