02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Opening Day Classic (HS - East) Bruce is a strong 3B prospect who showed well during the Opening Day Classic. At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through an open setup. He gets into a simple load and works through a smooth swing. He generates fast bat speed through the zone and drives the ball from gap to gap with authority (93mph exit velo). In the field, Bruce shows great agility and takes good angles to the ball. He fields in an athletic position and has a clean exchange. He gets rid of the ball quickly and makes accurate throws with carry through his target. Overall, Bruce is a talented prospect who has the skill set to excel at the next level.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Bruce continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through well with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (92 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach, flashing gap to gap pop. On the mound, his righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. Fastball shows a range of 79-81 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with downward break. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches, working both sides of the plate.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Bruce continues to show as a top prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic open setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 78 mph. Fastball shows good sink. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

09/22/2019 - College PREP - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Bruce continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Defensively at SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays fluid / smooth actions. He shows active prep with fluid actions. He works around the GB and through it as he gains ground toward his target. Exchange is clean with strong throws. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped (84 mph exit velocity) through the zone through a solid line drive approach. On the bump, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 73 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

02/18/2019 - College PREP - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Bruce is a lean, athletic SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying excellent hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At SS, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, delivery is sound / repeatable allowing his arm action to work free to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 70-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Bruce has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
