01/13/2012 - 2012 Under Armour Pre-Season All-America Tournament Babcock showed as a two-way player C/RHP at the event. Currently, he projects best as a catcher for the next level. He has a strong arm with his feet working in line to his target through a clean transfer / exchange. His throws display accuracy and carry with pop times showing in the 2.10 range. Receiving / blocking skills have improved to outstanding, showing as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At the plate, Bryan shows a balanced approach and works to keep his hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. Power numbers will continue to increase as he learns to use his lower half more. On the mound, his fastball showed a range of 74-81 mph. Off speed pitches show potential as being quality pitches at the next level. He works to get ahead of hitters and changes speeds well. At the event, he had 3 quality innings with stock on the mound rising quickly if more arm strength is developed.
