07/11/2009 - E-ACR - Maryland 4 Bryan increased his velocity and power grade while at this event. Behind the plate, had quick feet and efficient exchange to get in decent throwing position on throws to 2B. While receiving, he let ball travel with ability to stick pitches with soft hands. Had ability to get around pitches with good elbow flexion. While blocking, falls forward and covers hole. Had good body control while moving laterally to block. Showed good athletic actions with quick recovery after block. Would like to see him protect throwing hand while blocking. At the plate, had good proper load and quick hands that allowed him to center all balls. Held his ground well while being able to hit balls to all fields, primarily up the middle. Showed the ability to cover the high pitch.

07/22/2008 - National Tryout - Trenton, NJ Bryan continue to show steady improvement in his play. He does need to get on a strict long toss program to aid in the development of more arm strength. He improved his hitting grades which are now solid average. He displays quick hands through a level swing path. He does show some pull side pop when he centers the baseball. He is still young and has time to continue to develop.

03/02/2008 - College PREP - Hightstown, NJ Bryan is a young player who is better suited for 3B at this point, but can improve on the mound. At 3B, shows rhythm and proper footwork. Hands are solid, but fields the ball deep under body. Fielding the ball out front will allow body to better adjust to bad hop. On the mound, has balance and good separation. Attacks the zone with all pitches. Can utilize lower half more in motion to increase velocity potential. Swing is short with bat speed. Uses lower half well and can create backspin on the ball. Could get a little better at shifting weight forward at the point of contact to increase power. Overall, Bryan has plenty of time to improve.

02/09/2008 - Accelerated Hitting Mini Camp (Commuter) Bryan continues to improve and showed a smoother load to swing transition. He also improve bat speed and barrel accuracy.

07/20/2007 - National Tryout - Trenton, NJ Bryan is an athletic player that is more suited for the infield at this point. At 3B, shows soft hands and stays down to field. Gets rid of ball quickly and has some carry on throws. Needs to be more aggressive and play through ball to utilize momentum. At the plate, shows a level swing and a quick bat. Hitting is above average. Flashes power especially to the pull side. Extends nicely. Overall, Bryan has the athleticism to play at the next level and now must polish ability over the next couple of years. Nice young talented kid.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
