06/10/2019 - College PREP - Rapid City, SD Bryan is an athletic and talented 2022 utility prospect. Behind the dish, Bryan presents a low target and has quiet actions to the ball when receiving. He leads with his glove and keeps the ball in front of him when blocking. When throwing, Bryan has a clean exchange, proper footwork, and makes accurate throws. At 2B, Bryan is on time with his prep step and presents a low/early glove. He has good footwork to the ball and makes accurate throws. At the plate, Bryan starts in an athletic stance and has a smooth load. He looks for the ball middle-out, keeps the barrel on plane, and gets extension through contact. Bryan will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

04/28/2019 - College PREP - Phoenix, AZ Bryan is an athletic C/2B prospect who will graduate in 2022. Behind the plate, Bryan shows active footwork when blocking and keeps the ball in front. He sits in an athletic stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He throws from a low 3/4 angle and works to keep his throws accurate to his target. Making a quicker exchange can help Bryan improve as a C. At 2B, Bryan shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Bryan can improve as a 2B by taking a better prep step. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He takes a level swing and leads well with his lower half, leading to solid contact to his pull side. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Bryan improve as a hitter. With three more years to develop, Bryan has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
