10/09/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Spokane, WA Bryant is a hardworking 2B prospect who graduates in 2018. In the field, Bryant plays with effective footwork taking good angles. He is especially strong to his glove side and he is not afraid to lay out. Bryant has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action from a 3/4 slot. He plays with momentum towards his target and his throws are consistently online. Offensively, Bryant has an athletic stance with a firm front side and square stride. He is a patient hitter with a good eye. Bryant uses his hips well throughout his swing and sprays the ball to all fields. He shows solid contact to the opposite field. Bryant is a developing prospect with a good approach to the game that gives him upside.

01/15/2016 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Bryant Hales is a sophomore 2B with a 5'7/135 lbs frame. Offensively, he showed loose hands to hit, generating decent bat speed after getting to a decent slot position to launch. He worked in drills on using more lower half to help drive through the baseball and really whip the barrel to contact. Defensively, he showed good overall actions with exceptional double play feel. He was controlled with his body making plays and began moving quicker to the ball by getting his feet ready pre-pitch. All in all - Bryant is an intriguing follow that made awesome progress in just three days of camp.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
