09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Bryce showed very well on the mound at the All-Region Tournament. This projectable righty toes the rubber with intent and confidence. He works quickly and moves the ball in and out hitting both sides of the plate. FB sits in the low 80's while topping out at 83 mph with good arm-side run. He keeps it down isn the zone consistently and gets GB outs. He hides it well and it comes out of his hand slightly deceptive giving hitters a tough AB. Slider compliments his FB well with 11/5 shape, sharp break and tight spin. Cruz competes and will eat up some quality innings in this his junior year.

07/22/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Bryce continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 65 mph. Fastball shows a range of 63-65 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to develop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

07/23/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Bryce continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At 2B, he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are aggressive in attacking balls but needs to play through more with his body. Glove action is soft / clean but will benefit by presenting more out front. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 61 mph. Fastball showed a range of 58-61 mph with tailing action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

02/12/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Bryce is an athletic, 2-way player at the SS/RHP position. At SS, he displays active pre-pitch movements with solid/quick footwork moving right to left. He fields GB's with a smooth backhand and makes strong/accurate throws to his target. On the hill, this righty is a striker thrower. He delivers each pitch with sound mechanics and finishes strongly towards his target. With the bat, Bryce is aggressive as he attacks pitches in the zone. He loads, explodes his lower 1/2 through and gets extension as he makes hard contact consistently. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Low/athletic fielding position
2. Work on DP flip
3. Develop softer hands
Pitching
1. Develop off speed pitches
2. Get to a balanced point
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Offense
1. Stay balanced
2. Bat speed
3. Develop more rhythm

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
