Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/3BPosition Projection

07/28/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Washington, DC Bryce showed nice improvements in his overall games during his last workout with The Factory. He raised velocity to 77 MPH, hitting grades to 45's, and ran his best 60 to date at 7.5 seconds. At 3B, Bryce has quick feet, soft hands, and he moves with good agility to the ball. He plays through well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with momentum and consistency from a short arm action to his target. On the mound, Bryce has good size and a loose/free arm circle. He separates his hands on time, works on a downhill plane, and competes in the zone. At the plate, Bryce has a tall/open stance, a square stride, and he flashes fast bat speed. He makes hard contact and has pop in his bat. Bryce has a bright future ahead of himself and we look forward to seeing what it holds.

11/03/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching Weekend (Ages 14-18) Bryce is an athletic and talented 2021 pitching prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Regional Pitching and Catching Weekend. On the bump, Bryce starts in a squared stance, he has a simple first move, and gathers over the rubber. He has a relaxed knee lift and separates on time. Bryce has a loose arm action and extends thru his delivery. Continuing to work north to south and riding his back leg toward the plate will allow him to increase direction and overall velocity on his fastball. His fastball has late sink and it tops out at 70 MPH. Developing his changeup by long tossing with it will help him get more feel for the pitch. Continuing to improve tempo in the delivery, confidence in his pitches, and overall strength will elevate Bryce's game to the next level. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

07/10/2018 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Bryce is a hardworking 3B/RHP prospect who has a projectable build. As a left-handed hitter, Bryce has an open setup with a centered balance. He has fluid rhythm with a smooth load and short, square stride. Bryce has an upward swing path and consistently lands the barrel to the baseball. He shows the ability to drive the ball to the pull side with power. In the field, Bryce works hard and makes the routine plays. He fields the ball in a high position with deep hands. Bryce gathers himself well and has a long exchange. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot showing accurate throws across the diamond. On the mound, Bryce has a balanced delivery and keeps his eyes on his target. He throws from a high 3/4 and low 3/4 arm slot with a clean arm action. Bryce stays square to home plate with the proper stride length and a controlled landing. His fastball has arm side run and his curveball shows medium break. Overall, Bryce is a coachable prospect who has a versatile skill set.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
