Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/2BPosition Projection

05/26/2014 - National Tryout - Jupiter, FL Bryce showed well on the mound during his last workout in Jupiter. He has a very good delivery, a loose / free arm action, and he repeats his delivery well. He extends through his pitches well, lands with a proper stride, and finishes out over his front knee. At 2nd base, Bryce has efficient footwork, sure hands, and good body control. He fields cleanly, works the double play well, and throws accurately from multiple arm angles to his target. At the plate, Bryce has an open stance, good balance, and he tracks the ball well. He showed average bat speed and the ability to square the ball up consistently.

02/16/2014 - National Tryout - Orlando, FL Bryce has made several improvements in his game since we last saw him. FB now tops out at 80 mph while showing arm side run. He fills up the zone and throws strikes with all 3 pitches. Bryce finishes out over his front side and in an athletic fielding position. This strike thrower will get outs as he attacks hitters and works to get ground balls. Defensively at 2B, he shows good lateral ranges moving well to his right and left. He gets into an athletic fielding position and makes the plays. At the plate, this RH swinger delivers the barrel on a level path and squares the ball up consistently. He likes the pitch on the inner 1/2 and pulls it with pop. Continuing to work on getting extension through contact will help increase power. Bryce should have success in this his junior season.

12/27/2013 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City Bryce continues to show well on the diamond. Offensively, this right-handed swinger displays a closed setup with a sold base. He delivers the barrel to and through the zone with plus bat speed, resulting is hard contact. At 2B, Lashley works fluidly around the ground ball and fields it cleanly. He gathers well and delivers accurate throws to 1B. On the bump, this RHP works at a quick pace and keeps hitters off balance. FB shows arm-side run as he delivers from a low 3/4 arm slot. He fills up the zone and throws strikes with all 3 pitches. Bryce is a hard worker who is always looking to get better.

11/03/2013 - College PREP - Tampa, FL Bryce is a 2-way player (2B/RHP) who has and athletic build (5'10"/150 lbs). Defensively at 2B, he shows good prep and works into a low/athletic fielding position. He takes a quick first step and works though the ball well. He has a clean exchange and fires the ball across the diamond. Offensively, he displays an open stance with a solid base. He maintains good balance throughout his swing and likes the pitch on the inner 1/2. On the bump, Lashley has a 3-pitch mix coming from a low 3/4 arm slot. He maintains good tempo and works at his pace. He fills up the zone and throws strikes with all of his pitches. FB tops out at 78 mph and CH is best off-speed pitch showing arm-side run. Bryce is only a few minor adjustments away from taking his game to the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
