08/19/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Bryce is a well-rounded OF/RHP prospect who has a versatile skill set. Offensively, Bryce has a square setup with a centered balance. He has a load with a square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Bryce has an on-plane swing path and maintains a flat barrel through the zone. He repeats his swing and consistently produces good contact. Bryce is a contact type hitter who looks to put the ball in play. In the field, Bryce is sure handed and makes every play. He fields the ball in a low position with soft hands. Bryce plays through the baseball showing good momentum toward his target. He throws from a low 3/4 arm slot and is developing arm strength. On the mound, Bryce has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He extends through his release and stays square to home plate with a controlled landing at the proper stride length. Bryce does a nice job rotating with his core towards his target as he finishes with his chest over his front knee. His fastball shows tail action and his off speed pitches are developing. Overall, Bryce is a balanced prospect who has potential to advance his game.

07/15/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 14-18) Bryce is an athletic and talented 2019 2-way prospect that made several adjustments throughout the training weekend. In the OF, Bryce is on time with his prep step and starts in an athletic position. He needs to continue to work on his first step quickness and being aggressive on ground balls. He also needs to continue to work behind fly balls and create momentum in his lower half when throwing. At the plate, Bryce starts in a squared stance and makes consistent contact. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create rotation to the ball in his hip, and staying balanced throughout contact. On the bump, Bryce separates on time, has a clean arm action, and gets his chest over his front knee. Continue to ride his back leg toward the plate and working north to south will help him stay directional toward the plate.

01/21/2018 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Bryce showing in the OF and on the mound for the first time at the event. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat but needs to work to get behind balls more and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 62-65 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/09/2017 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 14-18) Bryce continues to show a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

07/14/2017 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Bryce is a hardworking outfield prospect who has an athletic build and graduates in 2019. In the outfield, Bryce plays with effective footwork with a solid approach moving well in each direction laterally. He fields the ball in a high, square position. Bryce has a loose arm action throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing consistent throws. As a right-handed hitter, Bryce has a tall, open setup with a firm front side and his weight in the front of his stance. He has an aggressive approach and maintains a quiet head throughout his swing. He is developing bat speed with an on-plane swing path. Bryce is a contact type hitter who has potential. Overall, Bryce is a coachable prospect who hustles on the field and has the potential to advance his skill with development.

01/29/2017 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Bryce is a lean 2019 OF prospect. He is a reliable fielder in the outfield who can make the routine plays and contribute out there. He takes good routes to fly balls, getting to the spot and getting under the ball. He fields ground balls with his hands presented to keep everything in front and works to get the ball back in quickly to hold runners. His setup is simple at the plate with a square stride to get started early. His bat path is level through the zone and he shows contact ability to put the ball in play and pressure the defense, while he hustles out of the box. Bryce is a player we look forward to watching as he continues his development.

01/31/2016 - College PREP - Kapolei (Honolulu), HI Bryce is a young (2019 grad) R/R OF. In the OF, he takes solid routes and hustles to track down fly-balls to his right and left. He secures the ball with 2-hands, gathers well and has a clean exchange to throw. Working to play through the ball more along with strengthening his arm (long toss) will help to take his skills in the OF to the next level. As a hitter - Bryce shows a balanced/quiet setup as he waits for his pitch. Swing is level as he looks to drive the middle of the field. Engaging more of his lower 1/2 along with creating more extension through contact will help to improve his skills offensively. Bryce has tools with still time to continue to develop and physically mature (get stronger).

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
