09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Bryce continues to shine on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best through a balanced setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. In the OF, he displays fluid / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 62-65 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Bryce is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament. In the field, Bryce makes the routine plays and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Bryce field ground balls more efficiently. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a relaxed stance and takes a soft stride. He works through a level swing with fast bat speed, leading to strong contact to his pull side. Bryce can barrel up more baseballs by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Bryce gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Bryce shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 67mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 55-58mph with 11-5 break. Extending through his release can help Bryce improve his pitch command and velocity. Overall, Bryce is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/03/2019 - College PREP - Knoxville, TN Bryce continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / clean actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive approach. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 66-67 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/05/2019 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Bryce is a coachable OF/2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Pro Select Training at Pirate City. In the field, Bryce shows smooth footwork and flashes the ability to finish plays. He fields the ball out in front of his body and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a narrow stance and takes a square stride. He is controlled getting his hands activated in his load and takes a compact swing. He produces fast bat speed through the zone, leading to loud contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Bryce is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his freshman season.

12/27/2018 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Bryce continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and have a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat and works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Bryce is an athletic and talented prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. At the plate, Bryce starts in an athletic position, loads his hands back into the drive position, and shows tremendous bat speed. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create backside rotation with his lower half, and keep his head down at contact. Bryce will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

11/04/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Vinton (Roanoke), VA Bryce is a young, solid, 2-way player who plays OF and 2nd base. In the OF, Bryce has active feet, he reads the ball off the bat well, and takes proper angles. He makes plays, has a clean exchange, and throws with a long arm action to his target. At 2nd base, Bryce has good footwork, solid range, and he moves with agility to the ball. He keeps it in front and has an accurate arm across the diamond. At the plate, Bryce has an open stance, a short stride, and good balance. He has fast bat speed, a direct barrel to the ball, and he makes hard/consistent contact. Bryce can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
