Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/SSPosition Projection

01/23/2022 - All-In Membership - Missouri City (Houston), TX Bryce is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At SS, plays with good energy and has active feet. He creates good fielding angles as he fields from an athletic fielding position, with ability to pick out hops, and has a clean transfer. Has a short arm stroke and throws from multiple arm slots with a ability to get rid of ball. Made on-line throws consistently, with momentum to target, and an arm velocity up to 85mph. On the mound, he has athletic actions and a quick arm. Has some deception to his delivery as he mixes up his tempo. He throws a FB that sits 77-81mph with plus command, a 12/6 shaped breaking ball with good depth, and a changeup with good tailing action that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he starts with a crouched and even stance. Uses his lower half well and separates his hands. He gets good extension through the baseball, with quick hands, and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. He sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 85mph. With another year of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

11/17/2019 - College PREP - Pearland (Houston), TX Bryce is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2023. In the field, Bryce shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He fields with soft hands and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws consistently on-line to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Bryce can improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He takes an aggressive hack, leading to loud contact and line drives. Bryce can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Bryce gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and extends through his release, staying inline towards the plate. Bryce shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 63-65mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 69-70mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Finishing with his chest over his front knee can help Bryce improve as a pitcher. Overall, Bryce is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
