Official Scouting Report

  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

12/03/2023 - National Showcase - Windsor (Madison), WI Bryce is a solid SS/RHP in the 2025 class. On the dirt, his feet are in sync with his body and displays controlled actions. Gains a low and athletic fielding position and works from the ground up. Creates a short arm slot and can use several arm angles based upon his defensive zone. Release is quick and shows carry and accuracy at 83 velo. On the mound, he works both side of the plate and is very deceptive. His FB sat 76-8 with run for strikes. His CH (63)/SL (65-6) combo shaped 10-4 with late break. Working to stay on top will generate more swing and miss activity. At the plate, he begins with an open stance and demonstrates solid balance. Creates a short and squared stride with fluid and smooth movements. Has excellent hip and hand coordination to generate line drive actions at 80 exit velo. Overall, Bryce is a skilled two-way prospect and scouts are eager to witness his development at future BF events.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (MS) Bryce continues to shows a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At the plate, hitting abilities have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 63 mph. Fastball showed a range of 60-63 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Windsor (Madison), WI Bryce is a SS/OF prospect who will graduate in 2025. In the field, Bryce shows efficient footwork and takes good angles to the ball. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and hits against a strong front side. He takes a direct swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent line drives. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Lateral quickness
2. Long toss
Hitting
1. Let ball travel
2. Add strength

06/19/2019 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Bryce is a young 2-way player that plays 2B/OF. At 2B Bryce gets to an athletic ready position and shows active feet with a good motor. Fielding the ball, he presents well and creates momentum thorough release. His arm action is quick with accurate throws. Working on DP feeds / turns should improve Bryce's infield skills. At the plate Bryce sets up in an athletic stance with comfortable hands. His stride is short with controlled rhythm and timing. His swing gets on plane with plus barrel control. As Bryce's size grows his power should start to increase. INF hands drills will also be a good area for Bryce to work. He's very young and has several more years to mature and grow.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
