At the plate, he improved his power potential, now showing well above average through an open setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through level swing path. He stays inside the ball utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer/exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.00. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and presents a soft mitt out front. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable, makes adjustments, and competes on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
