06/22/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Bryson is an athletic second baseman that will graduate in 2021. In the field Bryson shows a good ready position and showed quick and active footwork. He showed agile range with a +1st step and fielded the ball low and out front. His exchanges are quick and clean, creating momentum towards his target. Bryson makes clean and accurate throws with carry and back spin with +DP feeds. At the plate Bryson shows a slightly open stance with high hands and short, square stride. He gets his foot down on time and works the lower half through to get on plane. Bryson makes consistent contact and showed the ability to hit line drives. As he continues to get stronger in the weight room and develop his infield play Bryson can become an everyday second baseman.

03/17/2019 - National Tryout Plus - San Francisco, CA Bryson is an athletic 2B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.02. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential through a tall setup. Hands are quick (80 exit velocity), generating bat speed to and through a short / direct / level swing path, creating extension. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball exploding off the bat when with gap-to-gap pop. At 2B, he continues to shine as he displays clean / athletic actions. He utilizes his quick feet in his lateral movements, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Throws display accuracy and carry to his target. With 2 years to further develop, Bryson has the makings of a special type player and is a sure player to follow.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
