03/10/2024 - National Showcase - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Brysten continues to shine with his baseball abilities on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, now displaying well above average power potential through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick generating bat speed (90 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. Barrel accuracy is a plus as he works with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
