08/23/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Buzz is a solid hard-hitting C in the 2024 class. Behind the plate, he has effective footwork and centers his body to the baseball with a low target. Shows a quick exchange with a fast arm. Release is a high 3qtr with accuracy to the bag. Registered a 2.25 pop with a quick release. At the plate, begins in an athletic stance and is on-time for the FB. His rhythm is smooth and stays inside his feet well. Hands are quick and hit with intent (87 exit velo). Path is short and direct and shows gap-to-gap power. Overall, Buzz is a talented C in the 2024 class.

Exclusive College Recruiting Program Buzz is a 2024 Catching prospect out of New Jersey with an advanced defender with offensive potential. Behind the plate Buzz stands out with an advanced feel for receiving and manipulating the baseball in to the strike zone on borderline pitches with a fluid move and soft hands. He can handle velocity and adjust to breaking pitches and the ability to set up on both one-knee down or two knee traditional stances. A durable and strong frame with athleticism and agility in his blocking skills with an ability to move laterally and quickness to beat the baseball to the block but a soft touch for keeping the baseball close. His arm strength and release play to a consistent 2.0 range pop time with accuracy in game. Offensively, there is strength in his swing with good use of his lower half to generate bat speed and the path is geared to get the ball in the air with authority. His frame, strength and approach project an ability to provide offensive impact to a college lineup with his current low 90 MPH exit velocities and feel for hitting he has power potential. Overall, Buzz is a premium defensive prospect with power potential and will be a strong college prospect.

06/23/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Wilmington, DE Buzz continues to show a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times showed in 2.35 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

03/14/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Manalapan, NJ Buzz is a 2024 C. Medium frame with some strength to the build and room to add more. Primary C with quiet actions and tracks pitches well. Releases from a high 3/4 arm slot who clocked up to 74mph on throws. Works thumb under keeping balls in the zone. Good spine angle and covered the 5 hole during workouts. Right-handed hitter, hits from tall slightly closed stance. Swings with intent and tries to hit off of his backside. On plane early with a knack for squaring balls up into both gaps. Four years of continued growth and development will bode well for his career at the next level.

07/07/2020 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Trenton, NJ Buzz continues to progress on the diamond. With the bat, he has a balanced setup with smooth rhythm to load. He takes a hack on a short/direct path and looks to drive the ball back up the middle of the field. Behind the dish, he tracks pitches into a soft mitt. Throws to 2B are accurate coming from a clean exchange. Pop times will continue to drop as he works to gain ground and increase his arm strength (long toss). Only a 2024 grad - Buzz has skills with still a ton of time to progress to get to where he wants to be.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Buzz continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.59 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work to and through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a team player, coachable, and plays the game hard.

08/14/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Buzz is a young, 2-way player who catches and plays 3rd base. Behind the plate, Buzz has quick feet, soft hands, and he presents his glove well. He sits in low, keeps the ball in front when blocking, and throws with accuracy from a short arm action to his target. At 3rd base, Buzz has good range, playable footwork, and he fields consistently; throwing with a short arm action across the diamond. Offensively, this RHH stands in well balanced, he takes a short/square stride toward the pitcher, and he works the middle of the field. He swings on plane and uses his lower body. Buzz can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
