Official Scouting Report

  • 3Class Rating
  • RHPPosition Projection

05/28/2020 - 2020 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Cade is a tall, lean RHP prospect with long levers and quite a bit of upside potential. He has a loose, whippy arm that works cleanly out front and leads to mid-80s fastballs with some late tail. He generates his velocity easily and it is easy to envision him throwing harder in the future. His breaking ball has 3/4 tilt to it and he mixes in a developing change with a good differential in the low to mid-70s. Cade's high 3/4 slot is natural and gets downhill plane to all of his offerings allowing his stuff to play well, especially against RHHs.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cade is a projectable and talented right handed arm who competes when he toes the rubber. He has a good presence, is sound mechanically and repeats his delivery well. He works to a tall balance point and drives downhill toward the dish. He keeps his FB down in the zone with good arm-side run (85-87 mph). A tight and sharp slider compliments his fastball as he has the ability to throw it for strikes in any count. He commands the zone and throws strikes, giving his defense a chance when hitters are able to barrel it up. Cade showed his athleticism and swung the bat nicely as well. He squares the ball up and has pop off of his barrel to his pull side. This 2021 RHP will garner attention from coaches at the next level if he hasn't done so already.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
