09/27/2015 - College PREP - New Orleans, LA Cade continues to show steady play in his baseball abilities as catcher and at SS. Behind the plate, receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. At SS, hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. He moves well laterally, displaying range in the MIF and shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. At the plate, hands are quick, flashing bat speed as he works to and through the ball, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball and shows a solid feel for the barrel, displaying gap to gap pop.

09/28/2014 - National Tryout - New Orleans, LA Cade continues to work hard. As a catcher; pop times are now down to 2.10 as he has a quick exchange and put accurate throws on the bag. He centers the ball off of his chest and is quick to recover. He is a vocal leader and takes control on the field. At SS, Cade shows plus range to his glove side. He works light on his feet, and works to square his shoulders up. Exchange is clean as he gains ground toward his target at 1B. With the bat, Cade remains balanced with a simple approach. Bat speed is quick to and through a level path. A 2016 grad - Cade still has a couple of years to develop his skills.

05/18/2014 - National Tryout - New Orleans, LA Cade showed his consistent play ability in his most recent Baseball Factory outing. Defensively, he worked as both a catcher and shortstop with sure hands and efficient footwork. He is vocal player that works hard and makes plays. Quickening his transfer and shortening his release time - behind the dish - will decrease pop times and make him more effective. At short, he took good angles, but could become more aggressive to come get. Offensively, he hit from both sides of the dish with good contact ability and an oppo approach. He gets his hands activated and is strong in his launch - but could work on his timing to improve barrel frequency. Overall - Cade continues to show discipline in making adjustments and improvements from outing to outing.

01/26/2014 - College PREP - Jackson, MS Cade showed solid receiving and blocking ability in his most recent Baseball Factory outing. Behind the dish he flashed pops in the 2.2 range and received with sure/subtle hands. He squared balls in front and was able to smoother the ball. At short, he worked through the ball and threw accurately with good all around actions. Offensively, he allowed the ball to travel - showing added maturity and trust. He also showed his solid oppo approach - hitting balls hard on a line to the right side. In all - Cade continues to show passion and desire to improve from each event.

10/23/2013 - Arizona Freshman/Sophomore Fall Classic Cade is a young C/3B that is extremely coachable and hard working. Behind the dish, he has good receiving and blocking ability and threw a 2.31 pop. His footwork is good, but with added work can quicken and allow for even lower pop times. At third, he makes plays with good body control and accuracy on with his throws. Offensively, he is a switch hitter - natural righty - that has a middle approach and some feel for the barrel. With added strength, Cade will be a sound hitter. On the base paths, he read dirt balls extremely well, advancing bags with plus instincts. In all - Cade is a good young player that has passion and plays the game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
