06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Cade continues to show a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, this righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB jumps out of his hand and shows some sinking action - 86 mph. Changeup is solid as he throws it with smooth FB arm speed - helping to create deception. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He works tall and drives downhill, repeating well. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to all gaps. At 3B, he has plus lateral range for a big guy, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping across the diamond. A projectable RHP - Cade will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact.

10/14/2015 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Cade showed as a RHP/SS continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities with a tremendous future on the diamond at both positions. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a solid runner at 7.37. At SS, defensive abilities are now outstanding, displaying smooth / fluid actions. He works to get around balls and plays through well with his body. Hands are soft, clean, and shows big play potential in the MIF. Throws are accurate with carry as he displays a quick / clean release. At the plate, hitting / power grades are now outstanding as well through an athletic setup. He loads well and shows quick hands that work through a level swing path. He uses his lower half well and shows a feel for the barrel with baseball exploding off the bat when centered as he works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields and gap to gap pop. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 84-85 mph with late life through a loose / free arm action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break shows an outstanding pitch that will get outs at the next level. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, showing a feel for with tailing action. Control is solid as he competes on the mound, throwing strikes with all his pitches. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude with inner strength and a high ceiling. He is a student of the game and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 2 years to further develop, Cade has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches, possibly as a two-way guy.

07/10/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National East Cade is an athletic RHP who can make things happen. On the bump, he has fluid actions with smooth separation. He keeps level shoulders and stay directional toward the dish. FB still sits in the mid 80's as he pounds the zone with strikes. CB has 11/5 shape with good action. At the plate, this righty shows patience as he lets the ball travel into the zone. Quick hands whip the barrel through a level path as he hits line-drives. He extends through his finish and ends balanced. A 2017 grad - Cade has a ton of talent with still a couple of years to progress.

03/29/2015 - College PREP - Pittsburgh, PA Cade is a talented prospect both as a RHP & SS. On the mound, this righty (6'1"/180) has an effective 3-pitch mix coming from a 3/4 arm slot. He stays compact/connected and drives downhill toward the dish. FB jumps out of his hand and cracks the mitt at 85 mph while showing sink & run. Curveball has 11/5 shape as he throws it for strikes consistently. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed and has sink/cut. He pounds the zone with strikes and will challenge hitters. At SS, Cade puts his athleticism on display actively moving around the GB. He presents his glove, fields the ball out in front and fires accurate throws across the diamond. Offensively, he steps into the box looking to hit. He takes an aggressive hack on a level path as he connects and drives the ball with pop to all parts of the field. Cade (2017 grad) is one to keep an eye on over the next few years.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
