Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/2BPosition Projection

01/29/2017 - National Tryout Plus - San Diego, CA Cade is a hardworking RHP/2B prospect who has a well-rounded skill set and graduates in 2018. On the mound, Cade has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He extends through his release and lands square to home plate with a controlled landing. He engages his hips and rotates towards his target. Cady has a full repertoire with a deceptive changeup and curveball with good depth. In the field, Cade plays with effective pre-pitch actions giving him solid range. He fields the ball with a firm glove and has a quick exchange leading into a short arm action throwing from a low 3/4 slot. He plays with momentum through the baseball showing on-line, accurate throws. Offensively, Cade has a square stance with a centered balance. He has a smooth load with a square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Cade has an on-plane swing path and gets good extension at contact. He can spray the ball to all fields and shows solid contact to the opposite field. Overall, Cade has a solid set of skills and good potential to get better with development.

07/25/2014 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City Cade is a talented two way player that plays 2B and also pitches. At 2B he has a quick first step, good body control, and he fields out front with sure hands. He has a quick exchange and he makes accurate throws with a clean arm action. At the plate he is an aggressive hitter that has an open stance and good balance. He uses his lower half well and he has a good approach tracking the ball well and uses the whole field. On the mound Cade works fast and pounds the zone with his fastball. He isn't afraid to pitch to contact and he has a good mound presence. With some added secondary pitches, Cade would be a viable option on the mound at the next level.

01/26/2014 - Interactive Video Program - San Diego, CA Cade continues to work hard on his game. At 2B, he is aggressive and comes to get the ball. He presents his glove out in front and fields the ball cleanly, avoiding the in-between hop. He gives good feeds and turns the DP quickly. At the plate, this RH swinger shows good balance through an athletic approach. He swings on a level path and creates good extension through the zone. Only a 2018 grad - Case has a lot of time and room to develop.

03/01/2013 - Yankees Spring Training Experience (Ages 12-14) Cade has shown improvement in his overall abilities since we saw him last. Defensively, he works around the ball, hands are sure, fielding position is square, and his feet are active. Cade has solid fundamentals but will need to work on playing through the ball focusing on his right foot working inside his left. He must also work to stay on top of the ball, which will help with accuracy and carry. At the plate, Cade showed a good lower half, his swing path is short and rhythm is on time. He has the tendency to step out but when reminded to step square he showed a better swing with the ability to use the entire field. By working on a consistent stride as well as letting the ball travel, Cade should see improvements in his hitting ability.

08/07/2012 - Interactive Video Program - San Diego, CA Cade is a young 3rd baseman with a small frame. Defensively, Cade has soft / sure hands, playable feet, and he attacks the ball aggressively. He has good fundamentals, he keeps the ball in front, and he throws with a loose arm action with consistency to his target. At the plate, Cade has an athletic set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He is short to the ball, swings in good rhythm, and he uses the middle of the field. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Throw downhill
2. More extension
3. Play through ball
Offense
1. More lower 1/2
2. Keep head still
3. Soften front foot

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
