Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • RHP/SSPosition Projection

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Cade is an athletic, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, Cade has good confidence, a small starter step, and a loose arm circle. He separates his hands on time, lands with consistent balance toward his target, and competes well in the zone. His FB touched 77 MPH off the bump. More finish and continued work on off-speed will help mound effectiveness continue to get better. At SS, Cade has playable hands and feet, he makes plays, and moves through the ball some. He shows a clean release and an accurate arm across the diamond. Defense can improve with a better fielding position and quickening footwork. Offensively, Cade has an open stance, a square stride, and he can spray the ball to all fields. He makes consistent contact and hits with some strength to the pull side. More extension through the ball and improved timing will help hitting grades spike.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
