07/26/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Cade continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.02 with accuracy and carry (81 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and tracking the ball well, sticking balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

02/24/2019 - National Tryout Plus - West, TX Cade showed improvements in his all around games during his workout in West, TX. He showed spikes in defensive and offensive grades. Behind the plate, Cade has active feet, he sits in athletically, and he shows good lateral range. He blocks and receives well, his exchange is clean, and he throws with a long arm action to his target. Working to throw downhill and improving accuracy will help catching continue to improve. At the plate, Cade has a square/athletic set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He has quick hands, fast bat speed, and he makes square contact gap to gap.

01/06/2019 - College PREP - San Antonio, TX Cade is a strong C prospect who will graduate in 2020. Behind the plate, Cade shows active footwork and gains ground well blocking balls in the dirt. He sits in a square stance and presents a good target to the pitcher, receiving with a firm glove. He makes a clean exchange and makes consistently on-line throws to 2B. Sitting in a lower stance can help Cade improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an open stance and takes a short stride. He drives his lower half through well and produces solid gap to gap pop. Cade can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. Overall, Cade is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
