Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

12/06/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Bernardino, CA Caden is an athletic OF/RHP prospect who continues to make steady improvements on the diamond. In the field, Caden shows fluid footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He has a clean exchange and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. Loosening his arm action can help Caden make stronger throws. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He shows smooth rhythm and hits against a strong front side, using the entire field well. Caden can barrel up more baseballs by working through a more level swing path. On the mound, Caden gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works inline toward the plate and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Caden shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 72mph. Breaking ball sits from 57-59mph with 12-6 break. Changeup sits from 60-62mph with tailing action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Keeping his eyes level can help Caden improve his pitch command. Overall, Caden is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Thousand Oaks, CA Caden is a young, thin, athletic 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Caden has efficient footwork, he fields in an athletic/square position, and he presents his glove well. He has a clean exchange and an accurate arm with carry to his target. On the mound, Caden stands over the rubber well, he has a good release, and finishes with his chest out over his from knee. At the plate, Caden has an athletic set-up, he loads properly, and he attacks the ball aggressively. He swings in good rhythm, has fast bat speed, and hits line drives. Abilities can improve with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
