01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Caden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.03 runner. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (88 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap to gap pop. In the OF, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding defensive abilities. He utilizes his quick/aggressive feet as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. He displays smooth / clean actions with hands / feet working well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and online zip (86 mph velocity) on his throws. On the mound, he continues to show a big upside. Fastball shows a range of 82-85 mph with cutting action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Caden is a prospect and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities, possibly as a two-way guy.

10/03/2021 - All-In Membership - Spokane, WA Caden is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Tall frame athletic build, with broad shoulders, and strength to the build and room to develop. In the OF, shows quick/active footwork and ability to cover ground. Good 1st step reads enable him to take aggressive routes to baseball. Tracks baseball well as he works behind/through the ball. Short arm action in back working into a 3/4 arm slot coming forward with a quick exchange. Throws are accurate/on-line, with a quick release, and had good carry into the infield with an arm velocity up to 86mph. A right-handed pitcher, works with good tempo and separates on time. Controlled windup as he works with good direction down the mound. Throws a FB that topped at 85mph with some movement in the zone. Mixed in a breaking ball with 11/5 shape and good depth and a changeup that has good sinking action that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and open stance. Good separation and uses his lower half well. A short barrel path, with quick hands, and a fast barrel through the hitting zone. Made hard contact into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 88mph during BP. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Caden having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
