05/21/2023 - National Showcase - Fryeburg, ME Caden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.37 runner. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness in tracking down balls. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, power potential has improved through a crouched setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Caden is an athletic OF who will graduate in 2024. In the OF, he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 2 years to further develop, Caden has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
