07/21/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Fort Wayne, IN Caden is a tall 1B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Caden makes the routine plays and makes a clean exchange. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Caden improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and works to barrel up the baseball, driving it up the middle. Caden can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With three more years to develop, Caden has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Caden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Fastball showed a range of 63-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and he presents on time and out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

09/16/2018 - College PREP - Indianapolis, IN Caden is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect. At 1B, Caden works off the bag well and picks balls out of the dirt. At the plate, Caden starts in a closed stance, and stays balanced through contact. He shows the ability to drive the ball gap to gap, and keeps his head down at contact. On the bump, Caden gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and stays squared toward his target. He keeps his eyes on his target, and competes to throw strikes. Caden will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
