03/06/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Lynwood (Chicago), IL Caden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 1B, he displays smooth, athletic actions. Feet are active as he displays proper foot work around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is soft / sure and he consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he shows an open setup. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with as he connects with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 75 mph. Fastball showed range of 74-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Caden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, power potential is now solid through a squared setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 1B, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 74 mph. Fastball shows good arms side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/04/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Rosemont (Chicago), IL Caden is a strong RHP/1B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Caden gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Caden shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 57-61mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 62-64mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Driving his lower half more can help Caden improve his pitch velocity. In the field, Caden centers the ball in the middle of his body and gets into a square position. He fields the ball out in front and has a clean exchange. He gains ground well on his throws, working to keep them accurate to his target. Caden can make more plays by working on his lateral quickness. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a square stride. He stays inside the ball well and produces solid contact. Maintaining center balance throughout his swing can help Caden barrel up more baseballs. Overall, Caden is a developing prospect who has the potential to further progress his skills on the field.

07/21/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Fort Wayne, IN Caden is a tall 1B prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. In the field, Caden makes the routine plays and makes a clean exchange. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. Getting into a more athletic fielding position can help Caden improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and works to barrel up the baseball, driving it up the middle. Caden can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. With three more years to develop, Caden has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Caden continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Fastball showed a range of 63-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and he presents on time and out front. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

09/16/2018 - College PREP - Indianapolis, IN Caden is an athletic and talented 2022 2-way prospect. At 1B, Caden works off the bag well and picks balls out of the dirt. At the plate, Caden starts in a closed stance, and stays balanced through contact. He shows the ability to drive the ball gap to gap, and keeps his head down at contact. On the bump, Caden gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and stays squared toward his target. He keeps his eyes on his target, and competes to throw strikes. Caden will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
