Academic All-American Tournament (MS) Cael continues to shine in his baseball abilities at the Academic All-American tournament. At 1B, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. He is a quality receiver at the bag, displaying proper footwork. Glove action is and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a tall, open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, he shows a controlled/repeatable delivery that allows his arm action to work loose and free to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 55 mph. Fastball showed a range of 52-55 mph. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/08/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (MS) Cael continues to show improvements on the diamond. At the plate, hitting/power potential have improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, he displays clean/smooth actions. 05/12/2019 - Interactive Video Program - San Antonio, TX Cael is a young, 2-way player who worked out at 1B and on the mound. Defensively, Cael has efficient footwork to the ball, he has soft hands, and he makes plays on balls hit his way. He flashes some feel with the backhand, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency and momentum from a loose arm action. On the mound, Cael has good balance, a clean arm circle, and he separates on time. He works well to his balance point, lands with good direction toward the plate, and he is around the zone with his pitches. At the plate, Cael has a closed set-up, he loads well, and swings with some bat speed. He hits hard to the pull side and taps into some lower body. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

12/15/2018 - Texas Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 12-14) Cael is a coachable prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Texas Offensive Skills Weekend. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated and takes a smooth swing, producing solid contact. Driving his lower half more can help Cael improve as a hitter. With seven more years to develop, Cael has the time and potential to further progress his skills at the plate.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
