02/10/2019 - College PREP - Monticello, IA Caiden is a well-rounded shortstop prospect who has an athletic build. As a left-handed hitter, Caiden has a square setup with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and short, square stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Caiden shows fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path. He lands the barrel to the baseball producing square contact. Caiden uses the whole field and can drive the ball to each gap with power. In the field, Caiden plays with high energy and active footwork. He has a solid approach and shows good range. Caiden presents his glove and fields the ball in a square, athletic position. He has a quick, clean exchange leading into a quick arm action. Caiden has a quick release throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot showing strong throws across the diamond. Overall, Caiden has a solid skill set on both sides of the ball giving him a bright future on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
