11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory's Fall Classic Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Caleb continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At SS, he displays smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Hands are soft/clean as he presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 53 mph. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best he can be.

10/20/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Conroe (Houston), TX Caleb increased arm velocity to 52 MPH and exit velocity to 54 MPH during his last workout with The Factory. At SS, Caleb shows active feet, a presentable glove, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He covers ground, creates a good fielding angle, and he throws with consistency and momentum to his target. On the mound, Caleb has good balance over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He has good direction toward home, a controlled landing, and competes in the zone. At the plate, Caleb has a tall/square stance, good balance, and swings in good rhythm. He is a contact hitter with a level swing and uses his lower body. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

03/17/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Tomball (Houston), TX Caleb worked out at SS and on the mound during his last workout with The Factory. He is a young, athletic player with great hustle. Defensively, Caleb has fluid footwork, agile movements, and he fields in a low position. He presents his glove well, his exchange is quick, and he throws with a quick 3/4 arm slot to his target. On the mound, Caleb has good balance, on time separation, and a clean arm circle. He gets good extension on his pitches, has a controlled landing toward home, and competes in the zone. Offensively, Caleb has a tall/square set-up, good balance, and he swings in good rhythm. He has an aggressive/direct barrel, makes solid contact to the pull side, and he uses his lower body well. Caleb can continue to improve with work on the following.

3. Range

12/15/2018 - Texas Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (Ages 12-14) Caleb is a coachable RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Texas Skills Weekend. On the mound, Caleb takes a simple starter step and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and finishes with a controlled landing. Caleb shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 50mph with tailing action. Breaking ball sits from 39-40mph with 10-4 break. Driving his lower half more can help Caleb improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a closed stance and gets his hands activated in his load. He drives through well with his lower half and sprays the ball to all fields. Caleb can improve as a hitter by taking a square stride to the pitcher. With eight more years to develop, Caleb has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
