09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Caleb continues to shine on the diamond. On the mound, he showed a controlled, repeatable delivery, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 75-79 mph with arm side run / sink. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with arm side run. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

Accelerated College PREP - Plainview (Lubbock), TX Caleb is a SS/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At SS, Caleb fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a clean exchange, keeping his throws accurate and on-line to his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Caleb improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He hits against a strong front side and produces solid line drives. Caleb can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Caleb gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Caleb shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph. Breaking ball sits from 63-64mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 67-68mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Extending through his release more can help Caleb improve as a pitcher. Overall, Caleb is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

12/20/2019 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Caleb is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City. In the field, Caleb takes a good first step and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a quick exchange and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Smoothening his footwork can help Caleb improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated in a small load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a compact swing with fast bat speed and good extension, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Caleb can improve as a hitter by getting his stride foot down on time. On the mound, Caleb gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Caleb shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 81mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 67-71mph with sharp 11-5 break. Finishing with his chest over his front knee can help Caleb improve as a pitcher. Overall, Caleb is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 14-18) Caleb had a positive attitude, worked hard, and was very coachable while at the Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown. At SS, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

03/04/2018 - College PREP - Plainview (Lubbock), TX Caleb continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate he has improved his power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a compact swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, flashing gap-to-gap power. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he shows smooth clean actions. He displays good footwork in creating proper angles in attacking and playing through balls with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes/angles in tracking balls down. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program.

10/22/2017 - College PREP - Conroe (Houston), TX Caleb is a lean, athletic 2B/OF who will graduate in 2021. At 2B, he displays clean actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper angles but needs to attack balls more and play through with his body. Glove action is soft but needs to present more out front. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are aggressive as he attacks ground balls, tracking to the glove. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
