03/24/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Oklahoma City, OK Caleb worked out on the mound and behind the plate during his last workout with The Factory. Radar velocity spiked to 56 MPH, showing solid balance, on-time separation, and good feel for the CH. Caleb is around the zone with his FB, he keeps his eyes on target, and lands with good direction toward home. Behind the plate Caleb sits in well, he holds a low target, and tracks to his glove. He has quiet actions, a soft glove, and throws with good direction to 2nd base. Pop times lowered to 2.81 during the workout. At the plate, Caleb has a tall set-up, a short stride, and he makes contact consistently. He has a good eye for the zone and hits with some strength to the pull side.

08/02/2018 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training at Historic Dodgertown (Ages 12-14) Caleb is an athletic and talented 2023 2-way prospect that works hard and several adjustments throughout the week. Behind the dish, Caleb fields his position well and shows leadership skills. He needs to continue to work on a balanced stance and flexibility in his hips. Presents a low target and working behind the ball will increase his ability to receive the ball. Leading with his glove to glove and getting his lower half down in an athletic position will allow him to control balls in the dirt with his chest. At the plate, Caleb starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back, and keeps a quiet head. He needs to attack the inside part of the ball, create backside rotation and get his front foot down on time. On the bump, Caleb gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and keeps a strong front side. He needs to drive the lower half toward the plate, work north to south, and increase the tempo on the mound. His fastball sits 46-50 mph but developing a changeup will his skills set on the bump. Caleb will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

04/15/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Fayetteville, AR Caleb is a young, 2-way player who catches and pitches. Behind the plate, Caleb holds a good target, he sits in well, and looks the ball in consistently. He keeps the ball in front when blocking, gains momentum toward his target, and throws with good direction. On the mound, Caleb stands over the rubber well balanced, he works in good tempo, and competes in the zone with his pitches. Offensively, Caleb has an open stance, he loads well, and makes consistent contact. He has a long stroke and some pop to the pull side. Caleb can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
