10/10/2018 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Caleb continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. He utilizes his quick / athletic feet well in his lateral movements, displaying range and attacks balls playing through well while presenting hands well out front. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Throws are accurate with accuracy and zip (86 mph velocity) across the diamond as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared / athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) generating bat speed through a level swing path. He works to stay inside the ball, showing a feel for the barrel as he uses the middle of the field well. The baseball jumps off his bat when centered. Caleb is a hardnosed player that flat gets it down on the field and he will get looks from the top collegiate coaches with his baseball tools.

05/13/2018 - College PREP - Spokane, WA Caleb is a lean, athletic 3B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying excellent hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are strong (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active and he displays proper footwork as he plays through balls with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with zip across the diamond. Caleb has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
