Official Scouting Report

  • RHPPosition Projection

03/24/2019 - College PREP - Greenville, SC Caleb is a tall RHP prospect who will graduate in 2021. On the mound, Caleb gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and extends through his release. Caleb shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 79mph. Breaking ball sits from 63-65mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 62-64mph with arm side run. Driving his lower half more can help Caleb improve as a pitcher. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He gets back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He barrels up the baseball and produces solid line drives. Caleb can improve as a hitter by taking a level swing path to the ball. With two more years to develop, Caleb has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
