11/17/2019 - College PREP - Montgomery, AL Caleb is a lean, athletic C/2B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 60 time of 7.30. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line, gaining ground through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times show in the range of 2.20 with accuracy and zip (81 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and sticks balls well on the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process and recovers well. At 2B, feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Caleb has potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
