06/03/2017 - 2017 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Caleb continues to show a promising future on the diamond with the makings of a special type player at the next level. In the OF not many balls get down that are hit his way. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips (92 mph velocity) throws on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. A RHH - he stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression (91 mph exit velocity) as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field.

01/13/2017 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Caleb is a talented outfield prospect who is well-built and graduates in 2018. As a right-handed hitter, Caleb has a square stance with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and square stride as his lower half leads his swing. Caleb has fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path producing square contact. He is a competitor at the plate and can drive the ball to each gap. In the field, Caleb has effective pre-pitch actions with a good first step. He fields the ball in a square position with a clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. Overall, Caleb has a well-rounded skill set and the ability to impact a program on both sides of the ball.

06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National West Caleb is a true talent who is fun to watch. In the OF, not many balls get down that are hit his way. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. A RHH - he stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power (89 mph exit velocity) driving all parts of the field. Caleb will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament This athletic (6'2"/170) OF continues to improve on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he now runs a 7.10 60 yard dash. In the OF, takes a quick first step and reads the ball well off of the bat. He works into position behind the ball, plays through it and fires strong throws on a line with carry into his target (throwing a runner out who tried advancing to 2B). At the plate, Caleb has a quiet/athletic setup with good balance. He remains compact swinging on a level path to and through the zone. He hits the ball where it's pitched and has the ability to spray the whole field. Once on base, he's aggressive and is always looking to take the extra base (2 SB's). This 2018 grad has a ton of upside and will be one to keep an eye on.

07/22/2015 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Caleb is a R/R OF who has an athletic/projectable build (6'2"/170). With the bat, this RHH has a balanced approach with rhythm to load. Hands are quick as he whips the barrel through the zone and connects with strength. He proved to be a tough out - going 4 for 8 with 4 singles and a walk. Leveling out his swing path will result in more consistent/hard contact. In the OF, he hustles to his right and left to track down fly-balls. He gathers well, has a smooth transfer/exchange and makes accurate throws into his target. Turner is a team player and has the ability to get on the bump. He works in-line toward the dish and repeats his mechanics. Curveball has excellent action - with 'knee-buckling' break. Caleb is a coachable player who has a willingness to improve. A 2018 grad - he has a ton of upside with still a few years to develop and progress his skills.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
