Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Caleb is a tall 2-way OF/RHP that will graduate in 2021. Hitting, Caleb shows the ability to hit gap to gap with some pop. He has an athletic stance and uses his lower half well allowing him to get the barrel on plane early. His fast bat speed combined with consistent contact allow him to be a threat at the plate. In the OF, Caleb takes good prep work that allows him to get an easy jump on the ball. He fields with a confident glove and makes clean exchanges. His throws to the infield are consistent and online. On the mound, Caleb works with a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. His mechanics are athletic and consistent with a balanced stride allowing him to finish his pitches. Caleb showed the ability to compete on both sides of the ball and we look forward to seeing his future.

08/18/2019 - College PREP - St. Augustine, FL Caleb is a lean, athletic OF that will graduate in 2020 with a promising future on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work to and through a short / direct / level swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with on line zip (84 mph velocity) to his target. With 2 years to further develop, Caleb has a lot of potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
