01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Cale is a 2025 1B/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Pre-Season All-America Tournament. At 1B, he has fluid feet and a good athletic fielding position. He shows good feel around the bag and is very agile for his size. He throws from a high arm slot and has accurate throws around the infield with good life. At the plate, he has an athletic stance and a square stride. He keeps a firm-front side and has fast bat speed. He has good separation and stayed connected well. Cale also did a great job of getting extended driving the ball gap-to-gap during batting practice. On the mound, Cale showed a fastball that topped at 85 mph with good sink, a curveball that sat 64-68 mph, and a slider that he was able to use as his out pitch. He was able to throw all pitches for a strike in any count. He had good mound presence and held runners on well. He also showed signs of swing and miss stuff picking up 5 strikeouts. With another 2 years to develop as a player before college, we expect Cale to continue to excel on the baseball field.

04/30/2023 - National Showcase - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Cale continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.04 runner. At 1B, defensive abilities are excellent as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper foot work around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is sure and presents out front. He moves well laterally and utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry (91 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 83 mph. Fastball shows a range of 79-83 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup, shows a good feel for pitch with sinking action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

10/19/2022 - Arizona Easton Fall Classic - Under Class (2025-2026) Cale is a coachable 1B/RHP prospect who showed well during the Arizona Easton Fall Classic. In the field, Cale attacks the ball aggressively and gets into an athletic position. He fields the ball out in front of his body and has a clean exchange. He gains ground well on his throws and keeps them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is controlled activating his hands and hits against a strong front side, producing strong line drives. On the mound, Cale gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate. Cale operates with a four pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 82mph with tailing action. Curveball sits from 70-73mph with 11-5 break. Slider sits from 72-75mph with good movement. Changeup sits from 65-73mph. Overall, Cale is a talented prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

10/02/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Kansas City, KS Cale continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.15 runner. At 1B, defensive abilities are excellent he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are sure and presents out front. He utilizes his foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line carry (86 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 81 mph. Fastball shows range of 77-81 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.35 runner. At the plate, hitting abilities are now solid through an open setup. Hands are quick (and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At 1B, he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag. Hands are clean and present well out front. He utilizes his quick feet well in covering a lot of ground. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 79 mph. Fastball shows good cutting action. Breaking ball shows 10/4 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sink. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/20/2021 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Cale is a 2025 1B/RHP prospect. He shows off good size for his age. At the plate, he does a very good job of getting into a strong launch position. Does an excellent job of getting his barrel on plane early and extending through the baseball. Shows an advanced line drive focused approach. Lots of bat speed and late bat whip. Hit a very hard single through the middle of the field in game action. In the field, he does a good job of activating his feet with prep step. Fields from a low position with his hands out front. Does a good job of getting rid of the ball quickly on throws. On the mound, he does a decent job of pitching ahead and commanding the strike zone. Showed a fastball that worked up to 75 MPH. Cale is a talented young prospect that we hope to see continued development from in the future.

12/10/2021 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Cale continues to shine in his baseball abilities at the Academic All-American showcase. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 76 mph. Fastball shows a range of 73-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

07/19/2021 - All-In Membership - Atchinson, KS Cale is a 1B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2025. In the field, Cale attacks the ball aggressively and gets into a square position. He fields with soft hands and gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth to load and engages his lower half well, driving the ball to his pull side. On the mound, Cale works with a quick arm and stays inline toward the plate. He extends through his release and finishes square to the plate. Cale operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 56-60mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 68-69mph with tailing action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. With four more years to develop, Cale has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
