06/29/2016 - 2016 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National South Cam continues to show a big upside on the bump. On the mound, this lefty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. FB jumps out of his hand and shows some arm side run- 80 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with tight spin and late / sharp break. Changeup has sinking action as he maintains arm speed with pitch, showing a feel for.

01/15/2016 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cam competed on the mound for the second consecutive year at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. On the bump, he threw his FB with run and sink, spun a 1/7 CB, and showed a tailing CH. His arm action was loose and clean and he repeated his delivery well. He worked around the plate with all three of his pitches and changed speeds effectively, keeping hitters off balance. He worked ahead in counts striking out 5 in his 3 inning outing. Overall - Cam is in good shape heading into his junior spring season and will turn some heads with his ability to get outs and compete.

09/20/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Lewiston, ME Cam continues to show well on the diamond. On the mound, this lefty has sound mechanics and repeats his delivery well. Arm works loosely as he stays directional toward the dish. FB shows slight tail as he hits his spots and pounds the zone with strikes. Breaking ball has sharp/late action showing to be a solid out pitch. Changeup has arm-side run and compliments his FB well. He works through smooth tempo and finishes complete. At 1B, Cam has active pre-pitch footwork and moves well on the balls of his feet. He moves well around the 1B bag and can adjust to throws to both sides. Offensively, Cam shows a balanced setup with active rhythm in his hands. He drives the ball with some pop by working to engage his lower 1/2 throughout the swing. Leveling out his swing path will help him to barrel the ball up more consistently. Cam is a versatile 2-way play who will find success on the diamond.

06/30/2015 - College PREP - Rindge, NH Cam worked out as both a LHP & 1B at his most recent Baseball Factory outing. Offensively, the lefty hit with good balance and decent rhythm. He got his hands activated to launch and was coordinated with his hands/hips to accelerate the barrel through the zone. At 1B, he worked to get into his fielding position and displayed decent hands to field. He threw across the diamond on-line to his targets and with further promotion of hands in front will become a more fluid defender. On the hill, he threw his FB with sink and late movement, spun a 1/7 CB from 61-63, and showed a sinking CH from 68-72. His mechanics were compact and repeatable and the arm worked very clean back and got extended out in front to finish chest over front knee. In all - Cam is a very effective player that has a very bright future as a L/L two way guy.

01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Cam showed strictly as a hurler at the Under Armour Baseball Factory Pre-Season All America Tournament. Mechanically, he gathered over the rubber, separated on-time and rotated to his target to finish. His FB velo was impressive consider he is a cold weather guy performing in January, and showed equal feel for his CB and CH. He struck out 6 in his 3 inning outing and was consistently in the zone with two of his three pitches. His smooth, controlled, rhythm allowed for plus feel and repeatability. In all - Cam is a projectable southpaw that has two and a half years left to add strength and command for next level play.

12/14/2014 - College PREP - Lewiston, ME Cam worked out as a LHP and showed a lean 5'10/150 frame with excellent stuff. This southpaw works from over the top with excellent arm action and a repeatable delivery. His FB sits in the low 80s and shows serious life. His late breaking CB sits in the mid 60s with a 1/7 shape. His CH seems to be his out pitch where it almost falls off the table. Cam showed a solid mound presence with the ability to work both sides of the plate with all pitches. Offensively, he squares himself to the plate with good balance and hands that are direct to the ball. His smooth load, strong lower 1/2 and good extension gives him the ability to work to all fields. Cam is a talented player with a bright future ahead.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
