Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

01/18/2016 - College PREP - Omaha, NE Camden has improved his baseball skills since the last time that we saw him. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 72 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. At the plate, power potential has improved as he works to keep hands inside the ball, flashing gap to gap pop. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. At 3B, he is a smooth / fluid fielder with hands / feet working well together as he plays through the ball toward his target. Presenting his glove more out in front will help to avoid getting the in between' hop.

11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City Camden is a 2-way 2017 grad that projects as a 3B/RHP. At 3B, Camden gets in an active ready position and works hard to get to the ball. He makes the routine plays and will see his abilities improve as he works on lateral range and fields on the balls of his feet. On the mound, Camden works from the 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action and sneaky delivery. He keeps his eyes on the target and flows in line with his target throughout his delivery. His FB sits 69-70, 10-4 shaped CB sits 61-62 and CH sits in the low 60s. As he works to get more lower half into his throw and lengthen his arm stroke, his durability and command will increase. Offensively, he hits from an open stance with a patient approach. He sprays to all fields with his consistent swing path and will see his abilities improve by staying through the middle of the field. In all, Camden shows some skills of the next level player that will help him succeed in his upcoming season.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
