06/04/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Chase is an OF/SS prospect who will graduate in 2024. Tall frame athletic build with strength present. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.73 seconds. His athleticism is off the chart as he broad jumped 9'2" and ran a 4.2 home to 1st. He wowed the scouts with a 100mph pull down during testing. In the OF good first step reads enables him to cover ground in all directions with ability to finish plays. Showed good lateral range as he works behind the baseball with a high 1-hand catch. Made on-line throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 100mph. At SS he showed athletic actions, with quick/fluid footwork, and has a cannon for an arm. Works from right to left, with ability to pick out hops, and fields from an athletic fielding position with hands out front. Has a short arm stroke with ability to throw from multiple arm slots. At the plate he hits from a crouched and even stance. Hits into a firm frontside and is centered at contact. Has an explosive bat through the hitting zone with natural juice in his swing. Hit hard line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 92mph. With another year of development, we foresee the 2-way prospect having opportunities to play at the next level.

Exclusive College Recruiting Program Chase is an athletic MIF prospect in the 2024 class. He profiles with his skills set, performance and projection to stick up the middle at either SS or 2b and can even play CF. On the dirt he has outstanding footwork with a feel for the rhythm and timing to work fluidly through the ball and his hands are soft with an exceptionally quick transfer that allows his already excellent arm strength to play even higher. There is a feel for throwing on the run and from multiple arm angles. A good athlete who runs a 6.8 60-yard dash with burst off the line. At the plate he utilizes a very simple load with a small move backwards and very quiet hands which allows him to maintain a compact swing path that plays to his gap to gap approach with consistent hard contact. A doubles power profile that will grow into HR power as he continues to mature.

09/02/2022 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) with Video Showcase Chase is an outstanding SS prospect in the 2024 class. His measurables jump off the page (91 velo, 6.97 runner and 88 exit speed) and scouts love his actions and energy. In the field, he displays advanced athleticism. Plays on the balls of his feet and feet are active to the baseball. Has a quick 1st step and movements are agile. Plays under the baseball and works from the ground up. Catch to release is solid and uses a short and quick release from numerous arm angles. His feeds are accurate on turns and ball has life across the diamond. At the plate, his hands are comfortable, electric and shows gap-to-gap production. Generates loud and hard contact with an explosive lower half. Also has plate discipline and has understanding of his path for coverage. Overall, there are many things to like about Chase’s overall game and he has a chance to make a major impact at the college level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
