Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • Position Projection

09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Cameron is a class of 2024 C/RHP prospect. Behind the plate, he shows off a low target. Shows an easy sit and the ability to receive the baseball well. Worked in the 2.3-2.4 ranges down to 2B. At the plate, showed a quiet head and repeatable swing. Did a good job keeping his eyes level. Reached base multiple times in game action. On the mound, he showed clean actions. Showed the ability to control all 3 pitches. Fastball was up to 75 MPH while he showed 2 off speed pitches, a 10-4 shaped curveball and a average changeup. Cameron is a talented player that we hope to see again in the future.

06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Cameron continues to shine on the diamond. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 2.4 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. He shows a squared setup and presents a soft mitt out front and utilizes his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 72-75 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/20/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 1 Cameron is a coachable C/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Christmas Camp & Tournament. Behind the plate, Cameron tracks the ball into his glove well and replaces his feet to throw. He throws from a high 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to the 2B bag. He centers the ball in the middle of his body when blocking and keeps the ball in front of him. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets his hands activated in his load and drives through well with his lower half, producing solid line drives. On the mound, Cameron shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 73mph with late arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 65-67mph with 11-5 break. Changeup sits at 65mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Cameron is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/01/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Louisville, KY Cameron is a lean, athletic catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well. Pop times showed in 2.35 range with accuracy on his throws as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall, open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. With 4 years to further develop, Cameron has a lot of potential and will get looks from the college coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
