06/22/2013 - Omaha National World Series - Session 2
Cameron continues to progress in his game. On the mound, FB now tops out at 81 mph coming from a short arm action. He fills up the zone and throws strikes with all of his pitches. He works quickly trying to control the game and doesn't give the hitter time to get set and into a rhythm. CB is very effective and shows 11/5 shape. Defensively at SS, he shows active footwork and soft hands, fielding the ball out in front of his body. He works from right to left and remains balanced and athletic, playing through the ball. Cameron's future is on the mound where he excels. As only a 2016 graduate, Abin is an exciting, young prospect who will only continue to improve.
02/17/2013 - National Tryout - Middletown (Hartford), CT
Cameron worked out both on the mound and at SS during his last workout in CT. On the hill, Cameron has a loose / easy arm action, a controlled balance point, and level shoulders. He has good direction toward home, lands in a square position, and he keeps his eyes on target. At SS, Cameron fields in a low position, his hands are sure, and he fields cleanly. He has a clean exchange, and delivers the ball with consistency to his target. Offensively, Cameron has an open stance, he gets through the ball, and he swings in good rhythm.
07/27/2012 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City
Cameron Albin is a tall and athletic 2016 graduate who pitches and plays 3rd base. In the infield Cameron fields with sure and firm hands, has active/efficient footwork, and fields the baseball out front while showing playable range. At the plate he has an athletic/balanced set up with his hands back in his load. He has stable balance during his swing, has fast bat speed for his age, and makes hard consistent contact. On the mound he has good timing and his arm works well through the zone. He was able to make adjustments during the game and showed us the ability to learn all week. With his mound presence and athleticism, Cameron will have a nice future on the mound or in the infield.
